Had a security breach — hard to trust now
I'll be blunt: 3Fun had a major data breach a few years back that exposed user locations and private photos. They've since improved their security, supposedly, but trust is hard to rebuild. The app itself is functional — simple swipe interface, group chat features, travel mode. But knowing their history with user data makes us uncomfortable. We keep bare-minimum info on our profile and don't share face photos on this platform.
3Fun is fine for casual browsing, not much more
3Fun does the basics: location-based matching, couple profiles, swipe mechanics. It's free to use with ads, which is nice. But the user base has a serious quality problem — lots of single guys with no profile info, obvious fake photos, and profiles that haven't been active in months. The lack of verification means you're taking a gamble on every match. We met one couple through 3Fun that was great, but it took wading through a lot of noise to get there.
Decent in big cities, empty everywhere else
We tried 3Fun while visiting Miami and had a good experience — lots of active users, quick matches, and we ended up meeting a fun couple for drinks. Back home in our mid-size city, the app shows maybe 10 profiles within 50 miles, most inactive. The 'travel' feature that lets you search other cities before a trip is useful. Overall it's a supplementary app at best. The free tier is limited and the premium pricing isn't justified by the features.
